Aromatherapy for Massage Professional Practitioner Diploma

Pre-requisites: Any massage qualification – the course teaches aromatherapy blending, not massage

Duration: 24 hours

Cost: £199

This course is designed especially for massage therapists wishing to blend oils for their clients without paying again for a massage course. It qualifies the student to blend and use 20 popular oils in their treatments, and the face-to-face element includes the student blending for a model and performing a massage treatment on them. A pre-course study module and 6 case studies are required for successful completion of the course.

The pre-course module takes a comprehensive look at the background to the subject. The face-to-face training includes the history of aromatherapy, benefits, contra-indications, contra-actions, essential oil safety and the properties of 20 essential oils. Assessment is practical, with a verbal test to ensure the student’s comprehension.

Please note that the student must have insurance for the case studies. Wellbeing Insurance, our validator, can provide this with a free upgrade to full practitioner insurance on qualification and Westminster will also offer student insurance. These do not constitute a recommendation and students should search for the appropriate insurance for themselves.

If the student already holds therapy insurance, they will need to check that this will cover them for the case studies.

Hot Stones Massage Diploma Course

Pre-requisites: Any body massage qualification.

Duration: 8 hours

Cost: £199

Hot Stones massage is becoming synonymous with spa style luxury and the effect of one stroke with a hot stone is said to be worth five with just the hands! There is no real pressure required which means that the therapist benefits too – less strain on the wrists and fingers. The massage is slow and gentle and incredibly soothing and relaxing for the client, hence it is increasingly popular, especially during the colder months.

This is an intensive 1 day course for students who already hold a Body Massage qualification. Since all students will already be qualified in body massage, the course is very much about helping them to incorporate the stones into their existing routine, rather than asking them to learn a whole new one.

The course provides intensive professional training in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Students are provided with a comprehensive manual and a session on professional practicalities and background to the treatment, although most of the emphasis is on practical training. Assessment is practical, with a verbal test to ensure the student’s comprehension.
